Human resource management (HRM, or simply HR) is the management of an organization's workforce, or human resources. It is responsible for the attraction, selection, training, assessment, and rewarding of employees, while also overseeing organizational leadership and culture, and ensuring compliance with employment and labor laws. In circumstances where employees desire and are legally authorized to hold a collective bargaining agreement, HR will typically also serve as the company's primary liaison with the employees' representatives (usually a labor union).

HR is a product of the human relations movement of the early 20th century, when researchers began documenting ways of creating business value through the strategic management of the workforce. The function was initially dominated by transactional work such as payroll and benefits administration, but due to globalization, company consolidation, technological advancement, and further research, HR now focuses on strategic initiatives like mergers and acquisitions, talent management, succession planning, industrial and labor relations, and diversity and inclusion.

Whereas in startup companies HR's duties may be performed by a handful of trained professionals or even by non-HR personnel, larger companies typically house an entire functional group dedicated to the discipline, with staff specializing in various HR tasks and functional leadership engaging in strategic decision making across the business. To train practitioners for the profession, institutions of higher education, professional associations, and companies themselves have created programs of study dedicated explicitly to the duties of the function. Academic and practitioner organizations likewise seek to engage and further the field of HR, as evidenced by several field-specific publications.
Human Resource Management (HRM) is the function within an organization that focuses on recruitment of, management of, and providing direction for the people who work in the organization. HRM can also be performed by line managers.
HRM is the organizational function that deals with issues related to people such as compensation, hiring, performance management, organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration, and training.
HRM is also a strategic and comprehensive approach to managing people and the workplace culture and environment. Effective HRM enables employees to contribute effectively and productively to the overall company direction and the accomplishment of the organization's goals and objectives.
HRM is moving away from traditional personnel, administration, and transactional roles, which are increasingly outsourced. HRM is now expected to add value to the strategic utilization of employees and that employee programs impact the business in measurable ways. The new role of HRM involves strategic direction and HRM metrics and measurements to demonstrate value.

Kerap kali kaum pria dituding sebagai makhluk yang egois oleh wanita. Dianggap tidak mau tahu, hanya ingin dituruti, dicap tidak bisa mendengar dan memahami kaum hawa. Sehingga Pria pun dicap sebagai makhluk egois.
Apalagi kalau seorang wanita sedang dalam keadaan marah, maka dengan mudah melabeli lelaki dengan “egois”, cuma mementingkan diri sendiri.
Tetapi lelaki pun tidak akan mau merelakan dirinya dicap makhluk egoistis, lelaki juga merasa bahwa sudah berusaha keras memahami wanita.
Di forum detik.com, ada sebuah pertanyaan siapa yang lebih egois antara pria dan wanita. Ini dia beberapa komentarnya :
1. sama egoisnya. Semua manusia diciptakan dengan potensi egoisme yang sama, tergantung bagaimana setiap kita menyikapi ego tersebut. jadi semua bisa jadi orang egois, laki-laki dan perempuan, sama saja…
2. Sama egoisnya, tapi beda jenisnya. Kalo pria tuh egois rasional, kalau wanita egois emosional.
3. semua orang ( pria & wanita )pada dasarnya egois karna mereka semua punya Ego , rata2 dari mereka lebih suka didengarkan daripada mendengarkan, apalagi dalam keadaan ” Tersudut. Egois Gak apa2 sich asal jangan sampai Narsis & Selfish aja…..tapi sebagai Wanita otomatis gw pilih Pria lebih Egois…( Egois banget khan gw..??!! He he.. Tq
Dari ketiga komentar ini, semuanya punya kesamaan, baik pria maupun wanita sama – sama punya ego.
Lantas dari mana cap lelaki sebagai makhluk egois? mungkin hanya mungkin, wanita adalah makhluk yang sisi emosionalnya lebih berperan. Sehingga ketika seorang wanita ada dalam satu hubungan, walaupun bukan hubungan asmara, dan mempunyai kesalahpahaman dengan lelaki, maka disinilah sisi emosional bermain, merasa tidak dipahami, atau dihargai, lalu wanita pun mengecap lelaki itu egois. Padahal sih wanita sebetulnya, tidak kalah egoisnya dengan lelaki.
Sama – sama ingin dihargai, dipahami, didengarkan, pria dan wanita adalah 2 makhluk egois. Hanya cara mengeluarkan ke-ego-annya dan kadarnya, itulah yang berbeda. Seperti salah satu komentar diatas, Pria lebih egois rasional, dan wanita lebih egois emosional. Walaupun secara makna, saya bilang bisa paham apa maksud komentar itu, tapi ya itulah perbedaannya antar pria dan wanita.
Tapi dibalik itu semua, pria dan wanita adalah pasangan yang tak bisa dipisahkan. Mau pria itu egois, wanita tetap butuh pria, pria pun butuh wanita.
